The One Mission Buzz Off is a fun and unforgettable event where passionate people come together to shave their heads in honor and support of kids with cancer; kids who don’t have the choice to lose their hair. Just like a walk or road race, participants raise money by asking family and friends to sponsor their participation. By shaving your head, in less than five minutes you can show kids with cancer they are not alone and that others really do care. All that stands between you and life-changing experience is a head of hair!
Why Take Part
Be a hero. Make a Difference. Get Involved.
Children and families dealing with cancer experience anguish that is all-encompassing and essentially invisible to those outside the hospital corridors. Children must endure painful treatments and lengthy hospital stays while their families cope with unimaginable stress, anxiety and financial strain. It’s a nightmare for the children, parents and siblings who must face this devastating disease.
Your participation in the Buzz Off will help fund programs and services that make life brighter for kids fighting cancer and their families by:
- Making the journey easier during treatment and hospitalization.
- Providing emotional support to patients, parents and siblings.
- Making the hospital experience less scary and lonely.
- Providing financial relief to families in need.
- Helping to ease the daily challenges of hospitalization.
- Bringing smiles to the faces of sick children.

People are Buzzing
“I’ve buzzed 3 times for the One Mission Buzz Off because what they do is different than any other cancer organization. Most organizations are about medical research, but One Mission is about the families. Their focus is on helping them through the process of cancer treatments & all the ways that it can put a financial & emotional strain on families.”

“From the day of my first Buzz Off I fell in love with One Mission. They offer so many great programs and services that don’t usually leap to mind when you hear someone has cancer. It would be tough to select only one favorite because that changes with each new story I hear. By the time each Buzz-Off is over I find myself already looking forward to the next year’s event.”

“My son Owen and I shave our heads every year as a show of support to those kids who don’t have a choice when they are undergoing chemotherapy. We have a choice every June to have hair or go bald. We go bald to show kids and their families that we have your back!”
– Jay & Owen M.
“I participate in the buzz off because it’s the right thing to do. I want to support kids with cancer who don’t have the choice of having hair. I try to raise as much money as I can to help pay for all the stuff One Mission does. What’s made me really happy is I’ve inspired 4 friends to join my buzz team.”
